ARA General Membership Application
Membership Category Definitions
Direct Membership: Any individual, firm, partnership or corporation engaged in the legal business of purchasing motor vehicles for the purpose of automobile recycling which includes dismantling such vehicles for the purpose of recycling, salvaging and sale of parts from motor vehicles as a significant or material part of the entity’s business. (Voting; Full Benefits)
Branch: Any facility which would qualify to be a Direct member: (i) except for the fact that such entity or facility is not privately owned (ii) is already affiliated with a Direct Member through ownership, control, or management, or (iii) is part of a Central Office Group shall be eligible to be a Branch Member. Branch Members shall be identified by their affiliated Central Office Member or Direct Member. The largest operation must pay full membership dues (based on the number of employees) in order for the branch(s) to be eligible. (Non-voting; may serve on committees*)
Associate Membership: Any individual firm, partnership, or corporation engaged in the business of selling new motor vehicle parts, manufacturers of equipment, supplies or services to the recycled automotive parts industry. (Non-voting)
Affiliate Chapter Membership: Any association of at least 10 individuals, firms, partnerships or corporations engaged in the business of selling or dismantling and salvaging of recycled motor vehicle parts. (Voting; one vote per group. Group benefits to Chapter office.)
Friend of ARA: Any students/individuals who want to support auto recycling, but do not qualify for any other membership category. Friends of ARA will not receive traditional membership benefits such as access to restricted areas of the ARA website, ARAU, voting rights, insurance benefits or discounted event registration. Friends of ARA will receive complimentary copies of the award-winning Automotive Recycling Magazine. (Non-voting)
